MADE TO MEASURE

A small kitchen that combines off-the-shelf kitchen modules with a bespoke series of furniture elements. The industrial modules offer the purity and durability of a stainless steel kitchen at a fraction of the cost of custom-built solutions.
However, in order to fit these modules neatly into the confined space, a range of furniture(s) had to be developed to fill the gaps left by the standardised 1.20m elements. These pieces are made up of butt-jointed panels, which are assembled into three-dimensional configurations that conform to a grid corresponding to the dimensions of the prefabricated stainless steel modules.
Should the kitchen be dismantled at some point, these objects could also be used as unconventional yet functional stand-alone pieces of furniture. Even now, without having to negotiate space and modules, a table in the same design language sits outside the kitchen, while a small stair moves about freely in the kitchen, as well as the appartment as a whole.
